Portuguese hotblood with Swiss precision
Quinta do Zambujeiro has developed into one of Portugal's leading producers thanks to the outstanding collaboration between the Swiss Emil Strickler and the talented winemaker Alain Bramaz. Zambujeiro caused a stir with its first vintage, 1999, and has since established itself as one of Portugal's most exquisite red wines.
The brothers Alain and Philippe Bramaz created the first wine for Emil Strickler's winery in 1999. Initially only 6,000 kg of grapes were processed in a makeshift wine cellar. Every step was carried out lovingly by hand: from harvesting and careful selection of the grapes to filling them in wooden tanks, fermentation and the pressing process. Despite frequent power outages, which made winemaking difficult and threatened the young, sensitive wine "baby", they managed to produce an outstanding wine that finally matured in the safe barriques. Today Zambujeiro is one of the best wineries in Portugal , and not just in the Alentejo region. His wines have received much international recognition and are featured on the wine lists of renowned restaurants worldwide.
Zambujeiro's success story is characterized by passion , hard work and innovative spirit. The consistently high quality of the wines, coupled with the dedication and expertise of the team, has made the winery a symbol of excellent Portuguese winemaking. The wines are characterized by their deep, complex aromatics and elegance, which makes them popular with both connoisseurs and lovers. Zambujeiro's exemplary development from a small, makeshift operation to an internationally recognized top winery is a shining example of the rise and innovation in the world of Portuguese wine.
