Nicolas Joly is the high priest of biodynamic viticulture, strictly adheres to the teachings of Rudolf Steiner and is himself the author of several books on the subject. He is the best-known and most idiosyncratic winemaker on the Loire.
Les Vieux Clos could be described as Nicolas' entry-level wine. But it is already so disturbingly beautiful with aromas of perfume, honeycomb, flowers, candied fruits, cinnamon and capers that any white wine has to be measured against it. The bitter and peaceful finish simply makes you happy .
