The Almirez is an impressive red wine from Toro and this pure Tempranillo (Tinta de Toro) comes from a strictly selected plot of 30 to 35 year old vines grown at an altitude of around 700 meters.
It has a deep, dark, almost impenetrable color that suggests enormous concentration and fullness. The bouquet shows impressive aromas of black cherries, plums and cassis, which are accompanied by spicy hints of tobacco, leather and chocolate. On the palate, Almirez is a complex and powerful wine that is a real treat for the palate with its velvety texture and full body. The aromas of dark berries and spices continue here and are accompanied by silky tannins and a long, intense finish. It was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels to give it more complexity and structure. A truly impressive wine that will profitably show its complexity and finesse now and in a few years.
