Raul Perez and his Bodega Castro Ventosa are the absolute role models of the celebrated northern Spanish region of Bierzo and he accordingly sets the benchmark for this region and the exclusive Mencia grape variety.
The fascinating combination of Spanish temperament and Burgundian elegance is unique. Red and blue berries, cherries, violets, vanilla, mocha and licorice: just a few of the aromas this enormously complex wine has to offer.
