Regular price CHF 52.50 |  Save CHF -52.50 (Liquid error (sections/product-template line 184): divided by 0% off)

The Grüner Veltliner from lamb only fully develops its impressive quality and extraordinary potential after a few years of bottle maturation. Creating a stock in which it reaches its full maturity and perfection is therefore highly recommended.
Even in its youth, this single-vineyard wine impresses with its remarkable complexity and exceptional length, starting with a powerful start and followed by a dense, compact body. For those who want to enjoy the wine in its youthful freshness, decanting is an excellent way to bring out the full range of its aromas through aeration.

Optimal drinking maturity: 2025 - 2040

Gobelsburg Castle, Kamptal

Stunning wines and atmosphere

The historic mention of Gobelsburg Castle can be found in old documents as early as 1074. In 1171, the Cistercian monks of the nearby Zwettl Abbey were gifted the first vineyards at Heiligenstein and Gaisberg in the picturesque Kamptal. Every visitor to this magnificent Baroque castle, majestically perched on a hill, can literally feel the aura of history and the rich experience accumulated over centuries. The breathtaking view from the castle extends over the picturesque village of Gobelsburg to the rolling hills of Heiligenstein. Inside the castle, not far from the elegant parish church, which serves as a romantic place for many couples to exchange wedding vows, an idyllic garden invites you to linger and enjoy the nice weather.

The Grüner Veltliner and Riesling grape varieties dominate the majority of the vineyards. Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent and Merlot take up around a quarter of the cultivated area. The wine-growing culture in Gobelsburg combines the most modern knowledge with traditional methods handed down by the monks and follows strict guidelines of integrated production. The vinification and expansion of the wines are carried out with the greatest care and consideration for quality. The Gobelsburg team strives to create authentic wines whose character is characterized by their individuality and origin. Michael Moosbrugger's innovative idea of placing the wine barrels on wheeled frames to avoid rough pumping revolutionizes winemaking in its simplicity. What is interesting is that the barrels are not made from French or American oak, but from wood from the neighboring Manhartsberg, which gives the wines a special local touch.
