The Bierzo region in the northwest, which is cool by Spanish standards, produces exciting pure wines from the Mencia grape and surprises with Burgundian character traits without denying its spirited origins.
The nose is pampered by dark fruits, floral notes, mint, a hint of pepper, tobacco and mocha and the palate experiences a perfect interplay of ripe tannins, juicy acidity and a suitable finish.
And finally, Robert Parker gave it 93+/100 points , which underlined the enormous quality of this wine.
